May is National Stroke Awareness Month

May is National Stroke Awareness Month ?
I am a three-time stroke survivor, and I am still here, still rising, still soaring like a Phoenix
?‍?

My first massive stroke came on October 3, 2017. It hit hard, leaving me with right-side weakness and aphasia, a condition that affects your ability to speak, understand, read, and write. That stroke changed my life, but it did not end it.

On April 10, 2026, an MRI revealed something I never knew, I had experienced a second tiny stroke that I was completely unaware of.

The MRI also confirmed a third stroke that occurred on that same date. Along with these discoveries came a diagnosis of Post-Stroke Recrudescence , a condition where previously experienced stroke symptoms temporarily return or worsen, even long after the initial event.
It can be frightening, but knowing is power!

I am so grateful those tiny strokes did not take me out.

My Creator and ANKHcestors don’t play about me! They fight battles I cannot even see. I am always rising and soaring like a Phoenix
?‍?.
